Fourth of July

OOPS! I can't believe that I completely forgot to post about Independence Day! Well, here it is.

Since the 4th was a Sunday this year we celebrated a little on the 3rd with barbecue with some ADORABLE little girls! Couldn't you just squeeze them? Aunt Sue Sue made her traditional cake with them and they loved it!
Then on the 4th we did our normal Sunday thing...church, then over to Nana and Papa's for dinner. After a monsoonish afternoon we were hoping that the rain would be done before the fireworks. We decided to be brave and try it. We went early, parked our cars then sat there and played games, and watched movies until we were pretty convinced that there would be no fireworks this year thanks to Mother Nature. Then we stayed a few minutes longer, and were rewarded with a very wet fireworks display.
This is what it looked like pretty much the whole time. The kids loved it anyway--and that's what it was all about!

(It looks like snow but its just rain...I promise!)

My Sweet Little Angel

My second precious angel turned four! Here is how it all went down...

The theme: Fancy Nancy

The cake: (HUGE shout out to Susie--SHE ROCKS! And Daddy too! Without their help it would not have been nearly as "fancy.")
The favors:The guests:

And that was all just for the first party. Friday night we had a celebration with family including Nana, Papa, Grandma, Aunties Ang, Nini, Manda, and Susie and ALL of the Whitmill cousins. On Saturday we did it all again, but much more "fancy" this time around. Same theme, same cake, same favors (and then some), and then there were the...

fancy faces (everyone got "made up" upon arrival:

crafts (a fancy purse, fancy pen, and fancy wand of course!):

and fancy guests: Tori, Sophie, Kylie, Kate, Caitlyn Marlee, Lizzie, and Brayden (not in picture).

On Sunday we celebrated her actual birthday! She had a donut and a Slurpee for dessert. She gets a Slurpee every year from her Uncle Ty since she was born on 7-11. He never forgets. Since it was Sunday he even remembered and dropped it off Saturday night. It kept surprisingly well in the freezer! I gotta admit...it is a really special thing to have somebody remember such a silly thing, but do it every year for my little one. Thanks Ty for caring that much about my angel!

Happy birthday my sweet Lizzie! I hope it was just what you wanted!

Some things that I want the world to know about my sweet angel:

She shares everything--on her terms. As long as you say please she will give you pretty much anything, even if that means she goes without. SHE IS SO SWEET!

She is VERY tender! She is like her Mommy--or at least how Nana describes Mommy--a child of extremes. She is either very happy or very sad, not much in between. When she is very happy the world knows it and can't help but be happy too. When she is not happy...well...WATCH OUT!

She is her own person. She doesn't care what anybody else likes, eats, or wears. She makes her decisions and sticks to them. I am hoping that this will continue and serve her well as she grows.

She is hilarious! She says the funniest things and constantly makes our family laugh. One thing is for certain...our life as a family is MUCH happier with my Lizard in it!

Fun Photo Shoot

Ok, so we did this simply because we thought that they would look adorable. Turns out we were right. Just look at these beauties! All the girl cousins on the Whitmill side. I can't wait to do a shoot with all the boys.
The girls had fun too!
And they posed for us!

Is it me, or does she look really old in this picture? They are best friends! I can just see them doing this in ten years...sitting, chatting, ignoring their mothers...ya know...girl stuff!
