Stock Show

Every year Papa takes all of the grandkids that are here to the stock show. I think he likes to show the city kids a little something about farm life. Anyway--the kids LOVE it! When we told the girls that we were going, they couldn't stop talking about the petting zoo. They were so excited to pet and feed the animals...until we got there. Then Lizzie reacted like this...

When she panicked I did what any good mother would. I turned my camera to video mode and got a short clip for posterity. I only wish it was a longer clip!

Tori was pretty nervous with the animals too, but she warmed up eventually. The day was a success. The kids had a blast, got free camo trucker hats (yay...), and most importantly some cotton candy from Papa. Doesn't get much better than Nana, Papa, cousins, and SUGAR!

Hat Day

Last Thursday was hat day at preschool. Tori loves to wear hats for short periods of time. She will out them on and take them off 53 times in an hour. Anyway--I wanted to make sure that her had did not become a problem while she was at preschool, so I told her not to take it off. My mistake. Apparently she told Ms Tara that she wasn't allowed to take it off, and when the class all decorated and wore their new hats, Tori just put it on over her "pink engineer hat." Ms. Tara is so understanding of quirky 4 year olds! Anyway--of course Lizzie couldn't be left without a propeller hat, so Daddy had to make her one too. The two girls ran around the house all afternoon and evening trying to make their hats "fly." It was really adorable!
These pictures were actually taken the next day. I wasn't allowed to do their hair because it would get in the way of the hats.
They keep me smiling, that's for sure!

We had to double hat it again. Who knows why?!?

Zoo Lights

We were a little late this year, but we got to go! The kids love this tradition! They look forward to the $1 hot dogs and walking through the hippos mouth!

By Special Request...

I had several requests to post this picture. For anyone who has travelled with our family, you know that my children do NOT love the car. On the short drive from St. George to Vegas, Owen screamed like banshee. The only thing that finally calmed him was a steady stream of vanilla wafers. It was only when we arrived at Grammy and Grampy's house that we saw the damage that was done.

He was caked from top to bottom--and so was the seat.

Stinky!

Saturday, laying in bed snuggling...

Tori: "Mom, I like your breath."

Mom: "I have stinky breath."

Tori: "I like stinky things, like your breath. I like to smell my toots too. They smell like tacos!"

Happy New...Haircut!

The before shot.

I finally gave in and cut Owen's hair today. I just think that once a baby's hair is cut they look so much older. After much teasing yesterday about his "Jim Belushi hair" or "whispy clown hair" I gave in to peer pressure. My little man got is hair cut!

In process...

The after shot.
