June 2013

Aaahhh summer!  In June at our house there was nothing terribly exciting, but there was a lot of "summer stuff" happening.  Playing outside, eating popsicles, playing outside, going swimming, playing outside, running through sprinklers, you get the picture.

We also got a visit from Grammy, Grampy, and Uncle Sam.  Sam is getting ready to leave on his mission to Mexico, so we got one last visit with him before he is gone for two years.  We hung out at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science...

...and Dinosaur Ridge.

We even celebrated Liza's birthday a little early.  Grammy gave Liz a session at Jumpoline with a private coach.  She was super excited.  When Grammy told her that she got to bring one person with her, and she picked her sister, Tor was pretty excited too!  They had a BLAST!  This guys was FANTASTIC!  He spent way more time with them than he had to, and he was super fun and patient!

Since Liza and her cousin, Sophie, both have birthdays in the summer (and only three weeks apart) we decided to celebrate together.  This year the girls decided on a spa theme.  We split the difference between their birthdays and celebrated at the end of June.  The girls have been in the same church class since they were toddlers, and in the same school class for four years in a row.  Needless to say, they have pretty much all the same friends, so that made the guest list pretty easy!

Between the facials, the decorate your own flip flops, the manicures, the make your own lip gloss, and the sugar, I think they all had a good time!  Unfortunately we didn't end up with a group shot of everyone, but we got some cute ones of the birthday girls anyway.  These two are great buddies, and so lucky to live so close together!

After the party Mom and Dad raced to the airport to go to Uncle Sam's farewell in Las Vegas.  We were grateful to be able to be there.  I still can't believe that the little guy that was not quite FOUR when we met is now on a mission serving the Lord!  Time goes by so fast!

What an extraordinary family I was blessed to marry into!
