My little Prince

Ok, so this post is a day late (story of my life!), but at least I'm getting it done. My little prince is four months old. The time has gone by ridiculously fast. He is getting so handsome, and he is maintaining his 5oth percentile rating, weighing in at 13 lbs 14 oz (I know, SO close to that 14 lb mark!!). He is 25 1/4 inches. His head is in the 75th percentile, so at least he is big somewhere. He is trying to keep up with his cousins in one area! :) I am so happy to say that he is still sleeping really well--usually waking up one time at night, if at all. Thankfully his day personality is mellowing out a little bit. I am desperate to sit through a meeting again without walking out with a screaming child in the first 15-20 minutes! February 20, 2008--what a sleepy little squirt!

March 21, 2008--losing a little bit of that dark hair!

April 17, 2008--Almost all the dark hair is gone!

May 17, 2008--Filling out a little bit and adding some blonde hair!

June 20, 2008--My little prince!

Bye Emma--we'll miss you!

Tori became fast friends with Emma when preschool started last fall. Her family left this week for vacation and then they are moving to Kansas City. Tori will miss Emma very much, so we had to have her over to play one last time. They swam, ate Dora popsicles, played and colored. They did so well together! We are so sad to see the Barkers go! YOU WILL BE MISSED! Please come visit!

Their masterpiece! They both signed it and we sent it home with Emma as a keepsake--I am sure it will go straight into her.....uh....journal! :)

Grammy!

The girls ADORE their Grammy, and they live for her visits. She was here over the weekend and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time together! Here are some of the highlights:

1. Reading stories with Grammy

They all had to have glasses just like Grammy!

2. Playing in the pool/hose with Grammy

3. "Hiking" (really more of a nature walk) with Grammy, Mommy, Daddy, and Brother.

My personal favorites from the weekend do not have pictures, but they are pretty fun moments to remember anyway.

4. Grammy is trying to get Lizzie dressed, and they have the following conversation:

Grammy:"Lizzie take your arm out of your jammies."

Liz:"Ok"

Grammy: "Switch your toy into your other hand" (Liz complies) "Now take this arm out of your jammies." (Again, Liz complies) "Ok, now put this arm into your shirt." (Getting a little annoyed, Lizzie again complies.) "Ok, now switch your toy into the other hand and put your other arm in your shirt."

Liz: "Grammy, you makin' me insane!"

Hmmmmmm.....perhaps Mommy should edit that little charmer out of her vocabulary, eh?

5. Lizzie comes running out to Grammy in the living room saying "Here Grammy, help me Grammy!" She is carrying the bucket part of her training potty, and sure enough, she made a very special something for her Grammy! Isn't she thoughtful?

THANKS FOR COMING GRAMMY! We love you so much! See you next month!

Rules!

Sometimes as a mother there are rules that you never thought you needed until it was too late. Here are some rules that I wish I would have made 24 hours ago.
1. Do NOT wipe poo all over the bathroom!
2. "Mom, can I listen to a story after you get out of the shower" is NOT an emergency!
3. Floating bath toys are to float in the tub, NOT in the toilet!

4. When using a back yard pool, do NOT make a muddy mess and then move it from the grass INTO THE POOL!

Aren't you glad I posted a picture of the pool, and not the bathroom? It was NASTY!

It has already been quite the day, and it isn't even noon!

Wii Fit

Ok, so we don't have a Wii, but Trav and Allie do, so we have had some fun at their house. They got the Wii Fit system and we had an AWESOME time watching the kids on Friday night! First we got to try the hula hooping (notice that there are no pictures of ME hula hooping!!). The kids couldn't figure out how to move their hips, so the parents moved their hips for them.

This is Trav, hooping for Shane! We joked that Shane was his joy stick!

Tori was awesome to watch. She "jogged" mostly by jumping and kicking while her nose was an inch away from the tv. HILARIOUS!

His own room!

Ok, so I will admit that I am not really ready for my babies to grow up. When Tori was a baby she was in her own room when she was eight weeks old (mostly because I had to go back to work at nine weeks). Lizzie was about 10 weeks when Tom convinced me that it was time. I have been super hesitant to let Owen go. He is my baby, and I want to keep him that way. After several days of convincing, I finally gave in. Last night Owen spent the night in his own room. I missed him, but I will admit that it was nice to not have to be quiet while getting ready for bed and waking up. It is especially nice because my wonderful husband goes to retrieve the babies when they need to eat, then returns them (after changing their pants) when they are done. (I KNOW, I am so spoiled!)

Here is my little man in his new bed--obviously NOT at bed time!

Splash Park

Yes, we went to the splash park...finally! The kids had a blast! Other than Sophie's minor catastrophe, it was uneventful and quite entertaining.

Lizzie was not sunscreened on her face, for obvious reasons, so Manda brought her a hat to wear. Tori was not to be outdone, so of course, she brought...her gardening hat!
Liz loved splashing in the water on the ground, and running near the fountains.
Tori had an all around blast and was soaked the majority of the time. Her favorite discovery was floating shoes! YAY for plastic footwear. She found puddles all around the park and sailed her shoes. We are so happy to have FINALLY found spring!

Tori, Lily and Marlee ran around like crazy. Every so often they met the rest of our group, Shane, Jace, Cambri, and Kate. Too many kids having too much fun!

Owen was an absolute angel. He sat in the stroller the whole time without a peep (sleeping most of the time of course).
We will definitely be going back often throughout the summer!
